Dartington Learning Postgraduate Bursary Fund

To enable students in financial need to participate in our postgraduate programmes. The bursary fund is dependent on fundraising and varies each year.

Eligibility
UK / EU and international full-time students

The Schumacher College Postgraduate Bursary Fund exists to enable students in financial need to participate in our postgraduate programmes. All students are eligible to apply for the Tuition Fees Bursary. The bursary fund is dependent on fundraising and varies each year. You may submit a bursary application with your postgraduate application. It will not considered until you have been offered and accepted a place.

The E.F Schumacher Scholarship

Dartington Learning awards one scholarship for each full-time master's programme to cover a percentage of tuition fees.

Eligibility
UK / EU and international full-time MA students applying for Regenerative Economics

To apply for a Dartington Scholarship, applicants must apply as a full-time MA or MSc student. Scholarship applicants are also able to apply for a bursary at the same time.

The decision will be based upon a combination of:

  • what is deemed by the programme coordinator as the highest scoring response against the marking critera
  • the course application form
  • a successful interview
  • evidence the individual can cover the remaining costs
     

Please answer the following question: Your statement should be no longer than 500 words and submitted alongside or preceding your application to study at Schumacher College.

For Schumacher, writing 50 years ago, questions of scale were of the utmost importance to the transition to a humane and sustainable future.  In what ways do you think his insight remains relevant to the world of the early 21st century?

The David Orr Scholarship

Dartington Learning awards one scholarship for each full-time master's programme to cover a percentage of tuition fees.

Eligibility
UK / EU and international full-time MA students applying for Ecological Design Thinking

To apply for a Dartington Scholarship, applicants must apply as a full-time MA or MSc student. Scholarship applicants are also able to apply for a bursary at the same time.

The decision will be based upon a combination of:

  • what is deemed by the programme coordinator as the highest scoring response against the marking critera
  • the course application form
  • a successful interview
  • evidence the individual can cover the remaining costs

It is now more than 25 years since the principles of ecological design were enunciated yet the practice of ecological design thinking has been slow to follow. Why do you think this is so and what would you do to improve the situation?

The Arne Næss Scholarship

UK / EU and international full-time MSc students applying for Holistic Science

To apply for a Dartington Scholarship, applicants must apply as a full-time MA or MSc student. Scholarship applicants are also able to apply for a bursary at the same time.

  • a successful interview
  • evidence the individual can cover the remaining costs

Engaged Ecology Scholarship in Environmental Humanities

The Alternative Guide to Fundraising

The Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding Online is an online database with alternative sources of funding, especially charities or trusts which make awards (fees, maintenance, research costs) to any student regardless of subject, or nationality.
