Schumacher College has an international reputation for its holistic approach to learning; students gain the practical skills and strategic thinking required to face the ecological, economic and social challenges of the 21st Century.

The College pedagogy rest on three foundations of Peer to Peer Learning; Whole Person Learning and Learning by Doing.

The College believes that how we grow our food is central to who we are as humans and how we interact with the world; we have developed a six month immersive, hands on programme of ecological and regenerative food growing using principles of agroecology and permaculture – the Schumacher Practical Residency in Sustainable Horticulture.

An exciting opportunity has opened up to join the Horticulture team as a horticulturalist and student trainer. We are looking for an experienced horticulturalist with a passion for sustainable food growing; you will be an excellent team player, a skilled communicator with a flexible approach to work and a commitment to values of Schumacher College and Dartington.

The Dartington Hall Trust is a remarkable, many-sided organisation with a fascinating history and significant future potential. We have a progressive tradition of using our 1200 acre estate to stimulate and nurture new thinking and activities that can help to improve the world we live. Dartington continues to forge a path that seeks to explore both individual disciplines such as learning, arts, agriculture, enterprise and social justice, and the broader notion of how they can be brought together to help create more fulfilling lives and a better society.
