We are looking for an inspirational leader, who is committed to an ecological worldview, to take on the role of Head of Schumacher College, part of the Dartington Hall Trust.

The college is an internationally renowned learning community offering ecology-centred masters programmes, doctoral degrees and short courses. The college attracts students from over 90 different countries and brings together world-leading thinkers and practitioners. Schumacher College engages the head, hand and heart in immersive learning to nurture change-agents capable of facing the complex challenges of the 21st century with imagination and courage.

This is an exciting time to join the college. Learning at Dartington is expanding with new course developments at Schumacher College and the launch of a second college offering study in areas of the arts. The two colleges will combine to contribute to Dartington Hall Trust’s mission of becoming a testbed and model for a just and sustainable society.

We aim to incubate real change to contribute to the wider learning needed for society and planet to flourish. We are looking for someone who shares our values, with deep commitment to transformative learning and with experience in leading education programmes and research.  If you have the skills, knowledge and passion for the work of Schumacher College and Dartington Hall Trust we would love you to apply for this exciting role to lead the college.

After 28 years Schumacher College has a tremendous reputation worldwide; we would like to build on this to play our part in re-imagining learning for the 21st Century. We believe that big ideas can make the world a better place. So our beautiful estate is home to a community of people who nurture new thinking, encourage learning and debate, and work every day to inspire one another. There are many sides to Dartington and that’s what makes our future so exciting. Come and be part of it.
