It has been announced that Jenny MacKewn will take over as the interim leader of Schumacher College after Jon Rae steps down from the post at the end of March.

Jenny, a friend and regular visiting teacher in leadership and facilitation at the college for the last 12 years, will hold the post for the next six months during which time the college will undergo a process of re-evaluation.

She said she was delighted to accept the role, “building on the outstanding work of Jon Rae and all his predecessors.”

She added: “I look forward to getting to know you all better and working more closely with you in this next context.  Above all, I hope to serve you, the College and the Dartington Hall Trust – building upon the many resonances that exist between the many sided life of the Elmhirsts and the head, heart and hands of the Schumacher approach.”

In an open letter to staff Rhodri Samuel, CEO of Dartington Hall Trust, thanked Jon Rae for his contribution as Head of College over the past six years praising his “enduring passion, commitment, enabling leadership and many significant achievements.”
