Mar Michelle Hausler and Alfred Widman are to leave the Schumacher Network as community facilitator and web producer.

The social media platform was launched just over a year ago as a pilot project to try to facilitate connections among alumni who come from all over the world to study on short courses and masters programmes at Schumacher College.

The platform has been very successful in attracting over 1,000 people, although in recent months the number of regular users has dropped slightly. The first phase of the project was funded by a charitable a grant from the Full Circle Foundation which has now ended.

Mar said: “Due to changes at the college and several adjustments to some funding agreements the SNP can unfortunately no longer support our roles.   It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you.

"It has been a wonderful experience and a huge learning journey for both of us. We feel honoured to have had your support throughout this time in trusting us with these roles.

“We will be active members on the Network and pass on the responsibility to Annie and Andrea for this interim period until further announcements.

“It has been, and still is, a big passion of mine to continue weaving the connections from Schumacher College harnessing this incredible network of people to support work for the earth and aligned with our right livelihoods.”

The Network will continue to operate as normal supported by College staff.
