Earth Talk with Manda Scott: Accidental Gods - How (perhaps) we can make the next evolutionary step one of consciousness, consciously chosen.

We have always known that evolutionary shifts happen at moments when any species or system is under pressure. This moment is about as pressured as it is possible to imagine.

We’re in climate and ecological crisis, and, more than that, we are the first generations to live at a moment when one member of one species (ours) could conceivably wreak total species extinction.

The ways we could wreak destruction on ourselves and the many lives with whom we share our home are myriad and mind-bending - but so too are the ways we might shift. We are at a point now in the evolution of consciousness where it may be possible to make the next evolutionary step one of consciousness, consciously chosen.

This is not a tweak to our genes. It’s not even a tweak to our way of being. It would mean a total transformation to all that we know. But we need to set the ground for this to happen. We need to co-create the systemic conditions within which this phase shift might occur.

Manda Scott, novelist, podcaster, graduate of the E4T programme, and Extinction Rebellion activist outlines her theory of conscious evolution and how we might bring this about.
