Michael Jackson

The author of forty books, including eight volumes of poetry and four works of fiction, Michael Jackson has won the Commonwealth Poetry Prize, the New Zealand Book Award for Poetry, and the Victor Turner Lifetime Achievement Award for Humanist Anthropology.  His prose narrative, Pieces of Music, won the Buckland Memorial Literary Fund Award and third prize in the Montana Book Awards. Michael Jackson is currently Distinguished Professor of World Religions at Harvard Divinity School. His latest books, Harmattan: A Philosophical Fiction, As Wide as the World is Wise: Reinventing Philosophical Anthropology, and The Work of Art: Rethinking the Elementary Forms of Religious Life were published by Columbia University Press in 2015 and 2016.
