Elsie Curtis

Campus Coordinator

Before arriving at Schumacher College Elsie worked at Dame Hannah Rogers Trust as a Conference and Events Manager, organising and running anything from weddings and business conferences, to beer and music festivals and Christmas Fairs. She then moved to the role of Social Enterprise Manager, where she supported and managed the Trust’s five Social Enterprises, working in partnership with other local charities and local schools to raise awareness of disability.

She says working at Hannahs gave her her an invaluable insight into working with different people with varying needs of disability. One of her key focuses when working as Social Enterprise Manager was not only supporting five initiatives across the Trust, but supporting those with a disability into an equal working opportunity.

She has recently moved to the edge of Dartmoor with her husband and her very handsome Jack Russell, Eddie. (pictured) They have spent the last year, designing and building their own Eco home, and she says what was once an old cow shed is now a very snug and gorgeous little family home. Set on 4 acres, they plan to create a veg plot and orchard and try to live as sustainably as possible. Her hobbies include gardening and growing and more recently Silversmith jewellery where she takes inspiration from nature for her designs.
