Roberta Sonnino
Roberta Sonnino holds a “Laurea” degree from the University of Rome (Italy) and a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Kansas (USA), which she attended as a Fulbright Fellow from 1996 to 2003. She is currently a Lecturer in Environmental Policy and Planning at Cardiff University (School of City and Regional Planning), where she has been involved in a number of research projects on agri-food and sustainable development. Over the past four years, Dr. Sonnino has published extensively from her research on local food, rural development and sustainable public procurement and has been invited to present the results of her research on school meals in Austria, Italy, France, the UK and the United States (where she has been keynote opening speaker at the Community Food Security Coalition in March).
