Certificate in Education for Sustainability: Last chance to apply!
The closing date for applications to the Schumacher Certificate in Education for Sustainability is 30th November 2008. With only two weeks to go, there has been a lot of interest, so if you are thinking of applying, act now!
The Certificate in Education for Sustainability is a transformative, action learning, part time programme, made up of five, one-week modules starting in February 2009.
The programme has been designed for educators, facilitators and change agents in all types of mainstream or alternative adult education and Continuing Professional Development. If you want to implement and integrate education for sustainability in practical and meaningful ways or are thinking about setting up a new educational venture, this course could be your next step. The focus is on adult education though all interested parties are welcome to apply.
The programme has been an inspiration to past perticipants who include: Prof. Waverli Neuberger and Dr. Vicente Manzione of Sao Paulo Methodist University in Brazil who are now creating a new initiative to embed sustainability across their University. Since taking the course Maggie Alexander has worked to set up a cultural exchange project between India and the UK, and Mark Skipper has been in collaboration with the Transition Cambridge Education Sub-group to create community based workshops on individual choices for sustainable futures.
